These terms set out how you may use the PC-Timer program and the pc-timer.com website (together, the "Service") provided by Second Korea Co., Ltd. (the "Company"). By signing up for the Service or installing the program, you agree to these terms.
Article 1 (What the Service does)
PC-Timer helps parents and guardians manage how long their own minor children use a Windows PC. It offers daily time limits and allowed hours, per-game and per-app limits, remote locking and extra time, screenshots, usage statistics and notification emails.
Article 2 (Signing up and your account)
- Only adult parents or guardians may sign up. You sign up and sign in with a code we send to your email address.
- You are responsible for your account and your parent PIN. You may not lend or sell them to anyone else.
Article 3 (Your duties as a parent)
- Before installing PC-Timer on your child's PC, you must tell your child, in words they can understand, what is recorded: usage time, the names and window titles of apps they use, and, if you turn it on, screenshots that you can see.
- Screenshots reach deepest into your child's privacy. Turn them on only as much as you really need, and tell your child whenever you turn them on or change how often they are taken.
- As your child's legal guardian, you consent to the processing of your child's personal information, and you register and manage that information yourself.
Article 4 (Prohibited use)
You must not use the Service in the following ways. If you do, the Company may suspend or close your account immediately and, where necessary, report it to law enforcement.
- Monitoring or recording anyone who is not your own minor child (a spouse, partner, adult family member, employee, someone else's child, and so on)
- Installing the program secretly without telling the PC's owner or user
- Publishing or handing over to others any screenshots or records you collect
- Reverse engineering or modifying the program, getting around the plan check, or putting excessive load on the Service
Article 5 (Free trial and plans)
- Each PC can be used free for 30 days from the day it is first registered. The same PC (hardware) gets the trial only once, even if it is registered again.
- Plans are per PC, for 1 month or 1 year. Paid by PayPal, they cost $1 per month or $10 per year (US usdShort). Paid in Korea by card or bank transfer, they cost ₩1,000 per month or ₩10,000 per year (Korean won). Korean won prices include VAT.
- A plan adds 1 month or 1 year, on the Korea time (KST) calendar, starting when the trial or the remaining plan period ends (or, if it has already ended, when payment is confirmed). If that day doesn't exist in the final month, the plan runs to the last day of that month.
- When a plan ends, PC-Timer does not lock the PC. Time limits, locking and screenshots stop, and your child can use the PC freely.
Article 6 (Payment)
- You can pay with PayPal, with a credit or debit card (NicePay), or by bank transfer to the account the Company provides.
- Bank transfers must be made within 7 days of ordering; after that, the order is cancelled automatically. Card orders that aren't completed are cancelled after one day, and PayPal orders that aren't completed are cancelled after 3 days.
- For bank transfers, a cash receipt or tax invoice is issued on request. For card payments, the card sales slip serves as the receipt. For PayPal payments (in US usdShort), the PayPal receipt serves as the receipt, and no Korean cash receipt or tax invoice is issued.
Article 7 (Refunds)
Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
Article 8 (Limits of the Service and liability)
- PC-Timer is a tool that helps manage your child's PC use. It does not guarantee that every workaround is blocked. Limits may not work if your child uses an administrator account, uses another PC or device, or learns your parent PIN.
- If your child's PC is not connected to the internet, it keeps working with the last rules it received. Remote locks and extra time are delivered when it reconnects.
- Unless it acts intentionally or with gross negligence, the Company is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the Service. The Company's liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the plan concerned.
Article 9 (Changes to and ending of the Service)
The Company may change or add features. If the Service has to end, we will give 30 days' notice and refund any remaining plan time under the Refund Policy.
Article 10 (Closing your account)
You can close your account at any time from the Settings page. When you do, your children's profiles, PCs, usage records and screenshots are deleted right away, and any remaining plan time is lost. If you want a refund for remaining time, contact us before closing your account.
Article 11 (Changes to these terms)
When we change these terms, we post a notice on the website at least 7 days before the change takes effect (30 days for changes that are unfavorable to you). We also email you about important changes.
Article 12 (Governing law and disputes)
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes about the Service are settled by the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
